TOEIC PROGRESS – LEVEL 1
The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is an international standardized test for evaluating your English skills for business. The exam covers business vocabulary and understanding business writing and communication. This is a very important test to demonstrate to employers that your English language skills are good enough to work in an English-speaking business environment.
Our program focuses on developing the listening, reading comprehension as well as the speaking and writing skills to be successful in the TOEIC exam. In addition, the course will help you to improve your knowledge of Business English and learn some basic soft skills such as presentation skills, team and project work, take practice tests as well as reviewing business articles and videos.
In order to evaluate the students progress, students will take 2 real TOEIC tests during the course. Based on tests results, students will be awarded a certificate.
Course Structure
TOEIC Progress Level 1 is aimed at High-Elementary and Low Pre-Intermediate students who need to get a score between 300 and 450 points. The course covers 4 skills.
The course covers the 4 TOEIC skills:
Listening: Each of the 4 listening parts requires a different approach. Students will learn how to answer each of the different question types, useful vocabulary for each of them as well as what common errors to avoid.
Reading: Students will learn how to understand the 3 different parts of the reading test and what grammar points need to know in depth. Furthermore they will be taught how to apply different reading techniques to answer the questions as fast and efficiently as possible.
Writing: Trainers will help students prepare for the specific tasks that will be asked in the TOEIC test. Study sessions will focus on improving the business writing skills that students need and will also provide ideas on how to plan the answers. Students will be given writing homework on a gradual basis and they are expected to complete it if they want to see a positve progress in their writing skills.
Speaking: Through different speaking activities such as role plays, group work or presentations students will have the chance to put in practice the most common vocabulary and expressions that appear in the TOEIC Speaking test. Constant feedback will be given by the trainer so that students will increase their self-confidence when performing each question of the TOEIC Speaking test but also when delivering a presentation or talking in public.
The course runs 2 times a week, 2 hours each session and is taught during weekdays in the morning or afternoon.
Total duration of the course is 50 hours (3 months).
